ORDERING

Q. WHY AM I HAVING SUCH A HARD TIME ORDERING ON MY PHONE?

A. We strongly suggest that people purchase from this site using a desktop or laptop computer. You are creating custom products that require decisions on editing and positioning that cannot be accurately or efficiently done on a phone. We want the process to be easy and the products to be exactly as you order them. Please avoid ordering on a phone.

Q. WHO PROCESSES MY ORDER?

A. This site is powered by a company called Zenfolio. The photo processing and shipping is done by some of the country's best photo labs to ensure quality. MPix is the primary lab in use. Products are shipped directly from the lab or supplier. The photographer is not involved in any way in order processing, payments, fulfillment or shipping.

Q. I DON'T LIKE TO ORDER ON-LINE. DO YOU ACCEPT CASH? CAN I PAY YOU PERSONALLY?

A. All transactions must be handled through the site. The Zenfolio system accepts all major credit cards and PayPal.

Q: WHY DOES IT SAY KOLLETH PHOTO AT CHECK OUT?

A. Due to rules regarding the collection of sales tax from online sales, I needed to create a business name. And that's it.

Q. THE SITE WON'T LET ME PRINT A PARTICULAR PHOTO ON AN ITEM -- OR IT IS CROPPED ODDLY. WHY?

A. There are times when the geometrical format of a photo and the format of the item don't jibe. For example, photos on mugs must wrap around the object. As a result, a vertical picture won't work well. In those cases, it's best to choose another picture or item to create,

Q. I AM INTERESTED IN LARGER SIZE PHOTOS, CREATING A BOOK AND OTHER OPTIONS. ARE THEY AVAILABLE?

A. Yes. I have selected a variety of products believed to meet the needs of the majority of parents. If, however, you are interested in something not listed, just ask and I will do my best to accommodate your request.

QUALITY

Q. MY PRINTS ARE CROPPED IN A WAY OTHER THAN WHAT I SAW IN THE GALLERY. WHY?

A. The aspect ratio of a raw image does not always match the standard dimensions of a print. Minor cropping can occur to fill the dimensions of a specified print size. Some images within an order may be cropped to accommodate a certain print size, while others are not. In the vast majority of cases, you will be able to make the crop decisions on the photo.

Q. MY PRINTS LOOK DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I SEE ON THE SCREEN. WHY?

A. In short, every display is unique. Just like the appearance of one television to the next in an electronics store, colors on a variety of displays can differ widely. To reduce the variance between the color you see on the screen and your prints, a regularly calibrated and profiled display is necessary.  Most people don't do that. I get it. We work with labs that color-correct the photos.

Q, CAN I JUST BUY THE DOWNLOAD AND PRINT AT HOME OR A LOCAL STORE?

A. Absolutely. Purchase, download, and do as you see fit. But we strongly advise you to use a professional lab for printing. Consider using MPix or Shutterfly online. Print services at local big-box retailers are, frankly, awful. They do not have the ink color ranges or quality paper necessary to reproduce these high-resolution images. Spend the money to make beautiful prints that won't fade in a year.

GENERAL

Q. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MORE PICTURES OF MY ATHLETE?

A. I strive to take great pictures of all the athletes. But please understand that some positions -- forwards, point guards, quarterbacks, pitchers -- handle the ball more frequently. This is out of my control but I absolutely try to capture all the players.  The surefire way to ensure there are more pictures of your player is to simply buy the pictures as they appear. This is a fundraiser. I watch which pictures sell and take more of the pictures that sell. Straightforward fundraising capitalism.

Q. WHAT CAN I DO IF I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH MY ORDER?

A. As a proud parent, like you, I know how important your memories are to you and I want you to be totally satisfied with the products and services from this site.  If for whatever reason you are not satisfied, please let me know and I will do my very best to correct the situation.  But please remember that I am a volunteer and this is a fundraiser. It's not a business.

Q. ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR SENIOR PORTRAITS, FAMILY PICTURES, WEDDINGS ETC...?

A. Thank you for asking, but no. This is a volunteer activity that I do for a few hours a week. I restrict my work to action sports for local non-profits and college and professional sports teams. Any work beyond that is done as a fundraiser for Special Olympics Michigan.
